Memorial Day Weekend

Here's a picture of our friends Robyn and Jarett (and Smokey) at the Rail Trail. We all had a lovely Memorial Day weekend together! Thanks for coming up guys!

A quick stroll down the Rail Trail

Smokey the Sweetie

Meet Smokey, Robyn and Jarett's 180 POUND American Mastiff! You just can't comprehend the size of this guy until you are standing next to him! It was so wonderful to have him around for the weekend though Obie (our cat) has spent the past two days under the bed and might never come out again!

A Large Dog with an Identity Crisis

Sure, he's not your average lap dog but he has one of the friendliest dispositions and cuddliest personalities of any dog I have ever met! Realize though that Robyn was not breathing while the picture was being taken! Thanks for the sacrifice Robyn...it's a great shot!

Cat TV

Cross your fingers! We picked up 3 new fish today. This time I won't feed them three times a day! Jorn named them "1, 2, and 3" They are all different colors and he was very specific about which is which.

Jorns First (Attempt) Haircut

Today out of the blue Jorn said he wanted to get his hair cut. So we all quickly packed into the car and headed off to the salon hoping to take advantage of his courage and desire. Well the picture was taken just before total meltdown and we had to leave with half his bangs cut and nothing else hoping that I could complete the job at home...

It didn't get any better at home. Jorn cried and put up a great deal of resistance but we managed to at least get the hair out of his eyes!

Best Buddies at Breakfast

These guys are inseperable!

Knitter's Stash Expedition 2005

Ok. So once a year the planets align and knitters from far and wide migrate to Webs in Northhampton for the annual tent sale. If you knit, you know...this is a *really* big deal. I went. My brother Pete had to come and get me after two hours since Greg wouldn't dare lest his head be bitten off by a tigress on the prowl! Lucky for Pete though I was already done. As you can see I was able to make room for my new additions which I believe justifies the purchase. You can't tell from the picture but there are luxurious wools and cottons from Italy, Icelandic Bulky wools, and Scottish wool tweeds in the mix. Yummy.

See...PLENTY of room!

Bubble Wrap

Nothing too exciting happening here. Just poppin some bubble wrap with my boy! Posted by Hello

Gloria

You don't know her but if you did you would love her! Gloria, an amazing knitter and a member of our knitting group, made this tablecloth for a contest (that she won!) almost 30 years ago! It was knit in ONE piece! This woman is one of my knitting idols! Make sure to click on the picture for a larger image eventhough it still won't do justice to the skill and intricacy of the piece.Posted by Hello

Home Sweet Home

Ahhh the beauty of spring. We just added the window boxes and they look great! Our lily of the valley and day lily are spreading like wildfire! Posted by Hello

Jorn and Obie having a BBQ! Unfortunately Obie was the victim of a senseless chalk assault. Usually he doesn't have the stripe down the top of his head. Posted by Hello

It's in the Genes

Jorn coloring in a coloring book. Posted by Hello

Jorn drew this picture of an ant without any assistance at all. He was looking at an ant crawling on the garage door and drawing at the same time. Jorn explained to me that the line that looks like a tail is actually a "smiley face" he drew as an afterthought.  Posted by Hello

Our Cockatiels

The proud parents! Our Cockatiels Peaches and Pietre. They are taking a break from the nest to have some breakfast with us. Rice cereal and almond milk! Posted by Hello

The second clutch of eggs. There are eggs that aren't hatched which act as incubators since they retain heat. Some breeders discard these since these are infertile but in fact they are just what nature intended. Posted by Hello

Mother's Day Surprises

A warm welcome home on Mother's Day after working all night. I still haven't taken it down because Jorn is very proud of it and keeps saying "Happy Mother's Day". It's super cute! Posted by Hello

The fruit of my labor! A wonderful little lace sweater/hat set created on the circular needle set that Greg and Jorn gave me for Mother's Day. In this picture it is half way done. The circular needle set is also in the picture. It is a knitter's dream heirloom gift! Thanks guys! Posted by Hello

May Flowers

Ok...the weather has been absolutely beautiful! So we have been gardening like crazy. Well, we ran out of potting soil and needed to make a run to the farm to get some more and wouldn't you know it the boys fell asleep in the car! I don't know who is the cutest? You decide.

Ahhh...so sweet! Posted by Hello
